Benefits for Successive Disability If you return to full-time employment and within six months of your return become disabled again for the same reason that caused your previous disability, you are eligible to receive successive disability benefits right away without having to satisfy an additional elimination period. However, if you return to work and become disabled after working six months, you will have to satisfy another elimination period before LTD benefits are payable.
